• Cover the rest of the kitchen areas with canvas or plastic sheeting
• Remove doors and hardware
• Repair all imperfections
• Sand down surfaces
• Apply full primer coat
• Spray all surfaces inside and out of cabinets
• Lay doors flat and spray each side
• Install hardware and doors
• Clean up

Do It Yourself remodeling can be extremely rewarding if you have the skills to all of the things that you will need to do. Both DIY painting methods have their advantages, but they also have their disadvantages. If time is a concern, then you want to seriously consider spraying cabinets, since it would go much faster than painting by hand with a brush or roller.
